Some days my body odor
Smells like half-burnt sage bundles,
Braids of sweet grass. Tobacco offerings.
Like wet, smoky blankets
Like skin and peat and granite.
Some days it smells like bacterial
Decomposition, bloated rat cadaver,
grease traps, & marsh flats.
Like an overture of death
Even right after I step out of the shower.
Does my odor contain multitudes?
Very well then I smell myself.
